His in-depth understanding of the
EPC process and the challenging environment in Nigeria drove the successful
investments in other manufacturing projects of African Industries. From 2006,
he led the group’s expansion into sodium silicate, Aluminum Sulphate and
Sulphuric acid by building an integrated chemicals complex in Ogun State.
Subsequently a glass plant was completed in 2009.
Given the group’s rapid growth and
increase in manufacturing initiatives, Alok has setup a technical projects task
force consisting of a team of highly experienced engineers to evaluate and
implement on-going projects for African Industries. In addition to his
management responsibilities, Alok also oversees several Greenfield projects and
expansion in existing manufacturing plants.
Alok’s most recent initiative is to
grow the group’s power generation capacity from captive to a self-sustaining
value proposition and increase profitability of the steel business through
implementation of several high value processes. He is currently the Managing
Director of African Industries.
